Construction creates drawings faster than most teams create a reliable way to retire old ones. A shared folder helps, but it does not automatically tell a worker standing in a room which drawing is current.
The real problem is revision confidence
A plan can exist in email, a shared drive, a printed site set and a phone. The risk appears when two people both have a valid-looking copy but only one is current.
Plan control should make the current version obvious and make superseded versions hard to use accidentally.
Bring the plan closer to the work
Room-level or task-level access changes the question from “where are all the drawings?” to “what does this person need here?”
QR access is one practical way to create that physical-to-digital link without making every subcontractor learn a new system.
What a useful solution records
Revision number, approval status, issue date, the areas affected and who received the update matter as much as storing the file itself.
